Meet Sydney. The Ultimate Flower Girl.

At the helm of Cosmos Floral is owner and creative director Sydney—a lifelong Minnesotan with a strong love of nature, art, and people.

While working in digital + experiential marketing and creative strategy for many years, Sydney was drawn to buying bunches of flowers from the farmers market to take home and arrange as a hobby. As her talent and desire to create grew, she came to the realization that she had the potential to pursue floral design as a career. Combining her passion for fine art, nature, storytelling, and sustainability—she started her design studio in 2022. Since then, Sydney has been all over the country designing, while building a studio home base in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Sydney creates designs that reflect the individuality of her clients by incorporating color stories, textures, and personalized flower selections. Sydney strives for her designs to be more than just flowers—but one-of-a-kind works of art that reflect the beauty and complexity of nature.

Outside of Sydney’s floral world, she fills her time with gardening, traveling (the north shore, NYC, and anywhere in the mountains are her fave), trying new restaurants with friends, attending concerts, reading fantasy novels, and annoying her little black cat, Beatrice. She’s a libra sun, scorpio moon, and cancer rising—and she does blame everything on mercury in retrograde (but only when it’s actually in retrograde).

At Cosmos Florals, we care about more than just the stars. We also care about our planet and people, which is why we have incorporated these sustainable practices into our floral business:

Locally Sourced

We prioritize locally grown flowers from Minnesota and Wisconsin, and other Midwestern farmer to reduce our carbon footprint when in season. Out of the local growing season, we prioritize US grown flowers and foliage before working with imported flowers.

Foam Free Designs

We don’t use floral foam in our designs. If you’ve ever seen flowers in plugged into a wet green chunk of foam, that’s floral foam—which is toxic. Floral foam is made out of petroleum, which is plastic, and breaks down into micro-plastics and ends up in our water ways, which then impacts living things that survive off of that water way (native flora, fish, other wildlife, and even us).

Recycling + Composting

We recycle and compost as much of our waste materials as possible. At the end of an event, any flowers that can’t be donated or repurposed elsewhere, we compost them. Packaging is reused as much as possible, or recycled when possible.

Non-toxic

We prioritize flowers that are in season and grown without chemicals—like pesticides. We don’t use any additional chemicals in our designs to help reduce the amount of chemicals that end up in our water ways.

No Faux

You won’t see any faux floral in your designs ever. And along those lines, we won’t design with painted, dyed, or bleached floral. We believe that the colors that come naturally are enough to create stunning pieces of art.
